The Surroundings

You can take extensive walks, also there are walks on marked trails and with a guide. You can cycle, too, and the mountains are ideal for mountain-biking. You may also drive off-road in the mountains. Monte Cucco is very popular with users of hang gliders and paragliders.
In the immediate vicinity are the Frasassi stalactite caves (10 km; 6 miles) and the various nature reserves, such as the Conero Natural Park (90 km; 56 miles), Monti Sibilini (94 km; 58 miles) and the regional parks Gola della Rossa (15 km; 9 miles) and Monte Cucco (15 km; 9 miles).
Sassoferrato is the nearest town (5 km; 3 miles). Other interesting medieval towns are: Fabriano (11 km; 7 miles), Cagli (32 km; 20 miles), Gubbio (38 km; 24 miles), Assisi (61 km; 38 miles), Urbino (60 km; 37 miles), Macerata (73 km; 45 miles) and Perugia (76 km; 47 miles). These towns are set in stunning locations and feature beautiful churches, fascinating museums and impressive castles.

Fonte Avellana monastery (22 km; 14 miles) is definitely worth a visit, as are the castles: Castello della Rancia (57 km; 35 miles), Castello di Sassocorvaro (78 km; 48 miles) and Castello di Gradara (98 km; 61 miles).

You can enjoy the beach and the sea in Senigallia, a 45-minute drive from Valdifiori, or the springs of Terme di San Vittore Genga (14 km; 9 miles).
For some stylish shopping, visitors can head to the administrative capital of Marche, Ancona (70 km; 44 miles) and to Perugia (76 km; 47 miles).

In the summer there are various festivals, such as “Festival Dei Due Mondi” in Spoleto, "Umbria Jazz” in Perugia, “Festa Dei Ceri” in Gubbio and "Giostra della Quintana” in Ascoli Piceno.
